How David Smit built TaskDone with No Code using Wordpress and Stripe

Hey! What are you working on and what led you to building with no code? Have you got any previous experience of building sites/apps?

I am working on TaskDone. TaskDone is an accountability system for Entrepreneurs. We are like a business coach that helps you achieve your goals. We do this by identifying your highest value tasks. These are those tasks that can make a real difference in your business and then our coaches keeps you accountable to those tasks.

In the past I built (I sold this site and the new guys have put ads on it) and I still run

What platforms and tools have you used to build TaskDone? How long did it take to build?

TaskDone is a WordPress website. We also use Stripe, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail and Freshdesk for support. We have been running the TaskDone process for about two years for myself. We have been running the process for other people for about two months as beta users. It took us a few weeks to get the website set up. Adding recurring stripe payments were quite painful, but we figured it out in the end.

How have you gone about growing your user base? What has been most effective?

Up to now, we have been directly targeting people in my network, mostly freelancers, consultants and entrepreneurs. I have also sent this out to the Instaaa list. We are about to do a launch and we plan on creating cornerstone content and promoting it on Reddit/Indie Hackers and a few other places where entrepreneurs and freelancers hang out. We also plan on doing a PR campaign towards mainstream media.

Have you monetised it yet and if so, what is your revenue model?

We have 3 plans. They are all monthly subscriptions.

  • Productivity $49 : We will keep you accountable to 3 things at a time.
  • Execute $99 : We track unlimited "tasks" and have habit tracking and sales boards for business development.
  • Team $299 : We will track your teams tasks and sales boards.

What has been the hardest part of building, growing or monetising TaskDone.

It was finding the time to productize our service and the training of our coaches with the procedures etc, so we are in a position where we can scale.

Growing is also painful. Finding people that need accountability. People often say: I am fine and I don't need this, but then 2-3 months later they haven't moved their business or their project forward, which means they absolutely need accountability, especially if it's an important project.

Do you have any tips on building, growing or monetising a no code product/business?

Keep it simple. It sounds straight forward, but it seems like humans always make things harder than they are. I regret not building our website on Squarespace. I took too much time looking at options. Same issue with setting up payments. Too many options and we spent too much time figuring that stuff out, instead of finding people that we can help with our service.

Where can we find out more about TaskDone and connect with you?

You can reach out to us at: our coaches are monitoring that inbox to answer all your questions. We also have live chat at:
