How Jake Jorgovan built Lead Cookie to $64k MRR using no code

Hey! What are you working on and what led you to building with no code? Have you got any previous experience of building sites/apps?

Currently I have built Lead Cookie which is a done-for-you Linkedin prospecting service. It’s funny because most of our customers think we are a software tool, but in reality we operate our entire service with humans who are doing all of the sending and strategy.

We had the service up and running within a week of conceptualizing it, although it probably took 6-8 months to really lock in our systems and processes.

How have you gone about growing your user base? What has been most effective?

Aside from using our own tactics, my personal brand has been a massive channel for growth and acquiring new customers. We also gave away and taught all of our tactics for free through A How to Guide to Linkedin Lead Generationwhich has been a massive source of leads and encouraged word of mouth.

Have you monetised it yet and if so, what is your revenue model?

Yes. We charge monthly retainers to our clients for our services. We have two options, a Lite and a Premium. Lite is a 2 message drip sequence. Premium is a 4 message drip sequence.

For marketing services, churn is a pain. I wrote a whole article on the problem with productized marketing services. In marketing, people constantly shift around their budget and try new things. Even if what you are doing is working, they are going to either saturate the channel, or want to try something new eventually. That is the hard part of marketing services.

Do you have any tips on building, growing or monetising a no code product/business?

Don’t sit in idea mode. Figure out how to get someone to pay you within weeks, not months. Do it by hand at first. Patch together tools. Just keep it lean and mean. Sell the idea, then figure out how to deliver it.

The biggest mistake I see most others make is they spend months in idea or production mode. Figure out how to sell the most basic version of your product and then do that before you go build anything.

For example, I have a friend who’s aiming to build a database of influencers and then sell that. He keeps delaying monetization while he’s finishing the database.

I keep wanting to scream at him to him “Just take custom orders now. Put together the results by hand and start making money today. Then eventually you can have your full database and it’s all easier. But get money in the door NOW!”
